We are seeking a dedicated **Lead Receptionist** with extensive experience in ophthalmology to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our front office, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients while also gaining valuable experience in ophthalmic technology.

**Position Overview**:
The Lead Receptionist will play an integral role in managing the daily operations of the front office, overseeing patient scheduling, check-in/check-out processes, and maintaining smooth communication between patients and medical staff. In addition, this position requires flexibility and the opportunity to be cross-trained as an **Ophthalmic Technologist**, where you will assist in performing diagnostic testing such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurements, OCTs, visual fields, and retinal photography.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient records.
- Coordinate with ophthalmologists and medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Ensure accurate insurance verification and billing information.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Be cross-trained as an Ophthalmic Technologist and assist with diagnostic testing (visual acuity, pressure checks, OCT, visual fields, photos).
- Provide additional administrative support as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- **Minimum 5 years of experience** in an ophthalmology or medical office setting is required.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and equipment is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in ophthalmic technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in ophthalmic technology (such as COA or COT) is a plus but not mandatory.
