Winnipeg, Canada Strauss event & association management Full time

As Administrative Assistant with Strauss event & association management you support event planning logistics and operations for Strauss’s association clients. In this role you will report to our Event & Membership Manager to provide administrative, event planning and onsite support. You ensure that all tasks on the critical path are completed on time by staff and volunteers. You will also provide general administrative and reception support as required.

**Role Accountabilities**:

- Review and update event critical paths; maintain spreadsheets;
- Manage and develop online registration systems;
- Assist onsite with virtual and in-person events;
- Answer telephones, refer inquiries, process and sort incoming mail, welcome visitors;
- Coordinate hotel room blocks and venue logistics;
- Provide administrative support to Event Managers during events;
- Prepare address labels and packages for shipping; and
- Ensure client records are filed in compliance with Strauss’s records retention policy.

**Desired Skills & Abilities**:

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and other technology platforms;
- Minimum 1-2 years office experience required;
- Ability to manage multiple projects;
- A passion for working in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong attention to detail;
- French or additional language skills considered an asset;
- Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with friendly and effective communication skills;
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills;
- Available to travel up to 20 nights per year within Canada; and
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
