Dover Shores Family Practice is a full service modern family practice conveniently located in downtown Port Dover with ample parking open 5 days a week. Our goal is help our patients protect their health in a welcoming and professional atmosphere that is organized, efficient, knowledgeable, experienced, and well-connected to top-city specialists. Medical office receptionist duties include the following:

- Answer telephone
- Book appointments
- Greet patients attending appointments
- Maintain the patient data base
- Swipe OHIP card on every visit - make sure card is up-to-date for payment
- Direct patients to appropriate examination room
- Prepare the patient for their appointments based on the type of appointment (e.g female annual exam requires specific setup and equipment
- Clean and autoclave used examination equipment
- Prepare collected specimens for the lab
- Clean up the exam rooms after each visit
- Maintain your workstation organized and tidy
- Urine dips and blood sugar tests as required
- Book appropriate investigations (pulmonary function, stress test, mammograms, bone densities, echo, stool occult blood, etc.)
- Communicating results to physician and patient as directed by physician, bill it accordingly
- Informing patients of their specialist appointment and investigation times (reply from specialists)
- Electronic medical record’s accuracy is maintained
- Monitoring necessary medical and office supplies and need for reordering/stocking
- Maintain personal work attendance, time off and vacation records
- Check cupboards in examination rooms for supplies, organization and stale dated supplies and items
- Handling of vaccines that upholds public requirements
- Photocopying and scanning of records as required
- Manage EMR for patients with required information, maintain EMR accuracy
- Handle new patient requests - provide information
- Ensure patients requests are responded to in a timely manner
- Maintain and ensure workstations are organized and tidy
- And other duties as assigned by Dr. Harold Hynscht and/or the Office Manager

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
