Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Summary

The bar supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations behind the bar, ensuring high standards of service, managing staff, and upholding a high standard atmosphere for guests and staff alike. The bar supervisor is responsible for ensuring stock and inventory is maintained in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

The role involves both leadership and hands on work to create an exceptional guest experience and drink menu while adhering to serving it right standards, BC liquor laws, and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management
- Supervise and coordinate bartenders and bar staff.
- Train mentor and evaluate staff to ensure adherence to service standards.
- Discuss operational staffing needs with operations manager.

Customer Service
- Ensure a welcoming and friendly environment for all patrons.
- Address customer complaints and inquires in a professional manner.
- Promote a positive and engaging atmosphere to enhance guest experience.

Bar Operations
- Oversee daily behind the bar operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining par levels. Oversee bartenders, and bar support staff.
- Check customers identification to ensure legal drinking age.
- Program and update bar POS as required.
- Ensure the bar is well stocked, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service.
- Bartend, bus, and support bar operations and staff as required.
- Count cash at end of night, balance till, lead end of night tip out.

Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, liquor laws, and club policies.
- Conduct regular checks on bar equipment and supplies to maintain safety standards.
- Assist in training staff on responsible serving practices.

Sales/Marketing
- Assist in development of promotional campaigns and events.
- Create custom drink features, feature menus throughout the year and for special events.

**Qualifications**:

- 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a bar or night club environment.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, beverages, and bar operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high pressure situations.
- Must be of legal drinking age and hold Serving it Right.

Work Conditions
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, 4-5 days per work, 25-30 hours.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while dealing with intoxicated guests.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, throughout shift.
- Be able to bend over/lift to move kegs, boxes of liquor, and other supplies.
- Be able to multi-task and make quick decisions

NOTE: Must be available weekdays for administrative tasks, deliveries, repairs, management meetings, etc.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
- Bartending: 1 year (preferred)
