**Job description**

Caffe Fantastico is a local family owned company with three licensed locations in Victoria. We have an upcoming Cheesemonger opportunity, as a key position at our Fantastico bar-deli location. Our deli focuses on the finest meats and cheese from around the world. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are ready to spend time helping our guest to build the perfect charcuterie board.

**Sales and Product Knowledge**
- Grow and lead a deli team in promoting sales of product through education, training and tasting.
- Build extensive knowledge of products available and explore/curate new products to introduce
- Cultivate and expand relationships with producers and suppliers
- Merchandise product shelves and maintain cheese case displays to promote sales

**Product Management**
- Manage weekly / monthly routine and repeat ordering
- Maintain a schedule of special and pre-ordered cheeses, often months in advance
- Provide ongoing care and attention to cheeses, ensuring prime condition is maintained
- Dry and cold storage organization and management
- Complete and submit monthly inventory

**Administrative duties**
- Contribute to social media content and ideas, generate promotions to work with company marketing strategy
- Maintain current cost sheet and supplier information for all ordering
- Maintain equipment in peak working order; troubleshooting problems and arranging for repairs
- Uphold food safety standards and contribute to training staff
- Measure and achieve company established gross margins/COGS
- Assistance with hiring and training of counter and service staff

**Ideally**:

- Prior experience in a sales position
- Retail cheese and charcuterie experience preferred
- Physically fit and able to carry large wheels of cheese
- POS / Excel experience for organisation and ordering
- Food service experience beneficial
- Food Safe / Serving it Right required

We offer a wage of $22-23 an hour to start based on experience and our current tips are $6 to $10 an hour plus lots of room to grow in our business.

We are fully licensed and have a great kitchens, great gratuities reflect a great team and great local food, craft beer and wine.

Must have a flexible schedule and be able to start very soon Our opening hours our 7am-6pm so no late night hours

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
