Established in 2025 by Trivest Partners, a private equity firm, Sentinel was formed through the acquisition of several regional service providers:_ Lenworth Building Services_, _Pro Door & Dock Systems,_ _Mar-Lin Dock & Door, Door Doctor & Secord Docks._ These companies specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead doors, dock levelers, and related equipment for commercial and industrial facilities.
**Sentinel Dock & Door Solutions** located in either one of our offices**:Lachine, Quebec**or** Oakville, Ontario,**is seeking a **Health & Safety Specialist.** **The** **H&S Specialist** will lead the strategic direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's health and safety programs across all Canadian operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
**Strategic Leadership**
- Develop and execute a national health and safety strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Act as the key advisor to executive leadership on all safety-related matters.
- Lead organizational readiness in response to regulatory changes, industry developments, or internal safety priorities.
**Team Oversight**
- Build, coach, and lead a team of Health & Safety Specialists across regions.
**Compliance and Risk Mitigation**
- Oversee compliance with provincial and federal occupational health and safety laws.
- Partner with Legal and HR to manage high-risk safety issues, inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
**Safety Program Development**
- Design and implement standardized safety programs and training across all Canadian sites.
- Ensure effective incident reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes are in place.
**Audit and Reporting**
- Establish safety metrics and reporting tools for continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to proactively identify safety gaps.
**Culture and Engagement**
- Champion a culture of health, safety, and wellness across all levels of the organization.
- Support operations teams in creating an inclusive and employee-centered approach to workplace safety.
**What we're looking for**:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Certification such as CRSP or CHSO is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive health and safety leadership experience, ideally in multi-site or industrial settings.
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial H&S legislation (e.g., OHSA, CSA standards).
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, high-change environments with evolving business needs.
- Ability to travel regularly across Canada as required.
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset.
