Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Technician to join our Fire & Life Team.

Your role will include diverse maintenance and repair & maintenance of Fire & Life Safety Equipment and other fire protection services. While this position is based out of our Oakville branch, there will be remote service requirements at customer locations in the Southern Ontario area.

Main Responsibilities in this role
- Inspect, maintain and service all types of fire & life safety equipment & systems at various customer sites.
- General shop duties, including in-house and mobile service work
- Conduct Life Safety inspection audits with follow-up recommendations and repairs
- Work closely with the service coordination team to schedule service work and maintain inventory levels
- Maintain service vehicle, inventory and tooling
- Complete all applicable health and safety paperwork, in a timely manner and associated with company policies and ISO procedures
- Ensure all manufacturer certifications stay up to date and current
- Perform after hours callouts as required
- Other duties when assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with fire & life equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
- Experience, education, or training & working with fire protection is a strong asset
- A valid drivers’ license and clean drivers abstract
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to work with technology and mobile devices

Physical Safety Requirements

This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive role involving various types of equipment and work environments. As such the following are core requirements for this role:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physically able to work in restricted or confined workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
- Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
