This person must have strong organizational skills, a passion for excellence, and the ability to make empowered decisions. We are looking for an outgoing and knowledgeable colleague who is willing to learn and ready to provide our customers and community with memorable experiences
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Passion for the craft beverages industry and the craft beer business; demonstrated capacity to cultivate strong relationships inside and outside the organization
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for our customers with exceptional customer service, ethics, and high expectations for quality
- Fostering a positive, fun, and safe environment for the hospitality team
**Sponsorship Development and Management**:
- Identify potential sponsors, partners and collaborations aligned with the company's goals and values
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded
- Ensure our brands are accurately represented
- Negotiate sponsorship agreements, including terms, deliverables, and benefits for both parties, advancing the awareness of both our business and the selected community groups
- Act as a liaison between the organization and the local community, maintaining a positive and open line of communication
- Facilitate community involvement and participation in our events
**Event Coordination**:
- Facilitate and support the negotiation and implementation of agreements that contribute to effective and long lasting relationships within our province and industry in coordination with the Marketing Manager
- Plan and coordinate a variety of events, including corporate events, beverage shows, beer festivals, private and charitable events, as well as other large-scale outdoor and indoor events
- Manage and/or coordinates the operation of internal and external events
- Keep an organized, shared event calendar with the Troubled Monk staff that includes all pertinent information promptly
- Meeting with potential clients looking for event space and discovering their event needs and how we can best serve them
- Design and provide detailed floor plans to perspective events contacts
- Seeing an event through to its conclusion to ensure it runs smoothly and meets our client’s needs, as well as addressing any problems that may arise before or after the event
- Communicate regularly with management concerning community engagement activities
**Donation Requests**:
- Monitor incoming requests, allocate donations, and communicate with community groups seeking support
- Identify partners that may provide value to the business and have potential to receive further partnership
- Coordinate our weekly product donations to local businesses to give back to our community in each respective market
**Marketing**:
- Coordinate with the marketing team to meet Troubled Monk’s marketing goals and contribute to social media content generation
- Collaborate with Marketing for effective and attractive visual displays at events that exemplify our brand standards
- Work in cooperation with Marketing to influence & implement promotional and marketing materials for community, private and charitable events - both large and small
**Human Resources Management**:
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, & performance management of all direct reports, if applicable
- Monitors and approves timesheets, vacation, sick time, lieu time and overtime for all staff under direct supervision.
**Attributes & Certifications**:
- Proven experience in event management, preferably in the hospitality or craft beer industry
- Highly organized
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to engage effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as external contacts
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
- Knack for delivering exceptional customer experiences, and thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
- Knowledge of craft beer, especially Alberta craft beer industry
- Happy working with a team, and comfortable working without supervision
- AGLC ProServe required
- First Aid/CPR, an asset
- Class 5 Drivers License & personal vehicle required
- 18+ years old
