**Community Development and Sponsorship Coordinator**

The Red Deer Curling Centre (located in the Pidherney Event Centre) is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and motivated individual to join our team as the Community Development and Sponsorship Coordinator. The Centre is a versatile, multi-use facility that hosts a variety of activities, including curling leagues and rentals, curling bonspiels, as well as trade shows and other community meetings and events. This exceptional, community-focused, not-for-profit facility features 12 sheets of ice, a pro shop, a kitchen, and a lounge.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be focused primarily on the promotion and sponsorship program for both Centre events and curling activities at the Centre. This includes implementing the existing sponsorship program, as well as identifying additional opportunities to enhance and strengthen the Centre’s ongoing operations. The Community Development and Sponsorship Coordinator will collaborate closely with the General Manager for continued growth and strengthening of our reputation as a premier curling facility in central Alberta.

**Responsibilities**
- Promote and represent the Centre in the community
- Oversight of the existing Sponsorship Program, with enhancement and further development in support of the Centre’s operations
- Review existing sponsorship and donor recognition program to continue successful programming and continue the enhancement and evolution to ensure relevancy of the program
- Identify Grant Opportunities to support any operational or facility support
- Participate with the General Manager and other staff as required in community events to build business opportunities for the Centre
- Participate with the Curling Events Coordinator with local community organizations, and businesses to grow participation in curling and venue rental.
- Support volunteer program for club events and activities.

**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of experience in community and fund development, preferably in a not-for-profit, sports, or recreation-based organization.
- Strong sales and relationship building skills, established in the Central Alberta community an asset
- Experience in program development, event planning, and community outreach.
- Excellent document drafting and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online website and registration systems (Curling Club Manager).
- Strong passion for curling and an understanding of its culture.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate club events and programming.
- A vulnerable sector check will be required as a condition of employment.
