Shift Leader - Job Description for Shawarma Royale

Position Summary:
At Shawarma Royale, the Shift Leader is essential in supervising staff members during their shifts, ensuring adherence to our high standards in food safety, product preparation, cleanliness, and inventory control. Directly reporting to the restaurant's Manager, Shift Leaders are also involved in administrative tasks and may assist with weekly paperwork and inventory management. A model of exemplary conduct, the Shift Leader is expected to lead by example, demonstrating outstanding customer service and embodying the values and standards Shawarma Royale prides itself on.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform all Team Member duties proficiently, setting a positive example for the team.
- Manage and coordinate staff tasks, ensuring efficient operations and completion of daily checklists.
- Oversee food preparation, maintaining Shawarma Royale's high standards for safety and quality.
- Conduct daily inspections at the start of each shift, reporting findings through Shawarma Royale's designated communication channels.
- Maintain rigorous standards of cleanliness, directing staff to ensure a pristine dining and kitchen environment.
- Assess team performance, providing recommendations for promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions to the restaurant Manager.
- Undertake administrative duties, assist with managing inventory levels, and facilitate accurate product ordering.
- Support the organization and execution of special events and promotions, enhancing the Shawarma Royale dining experience.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular follow-ups with team members on CHAMPS (Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality, and Speed of Service) to ensure exceptional service and operational efficiency.
- Embrace Customer Mania by fostering a culture of customer-first thinking and proactive service within the team.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members, promoting skill enhancement and alignment with Shawarma Royale's service standards and core values.
- Ensure all team members, including oneself, achieve certification through Shawarma Royale's comprehensive training programs, underscoring a commitment to professional growth and excellence in service.

Prerequisites:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with proficiency in English.
- Experience and Skills: Strong understanding and ability to execute written and verbal instructions. Previous leadership experience is advantageous.
- Technology: Proficient in using POS systems and navigating online training platforms.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift. Ability to lift 10 pounds regularly and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

**Salary**: From $16.55 per hour

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)
- Arabic (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (required)
