**Position Summary**:
Manages all aspects of the Company’s facilities, buildings, premises and equipment while ensuring compliance with all mu-nicipal, provincial and federal environmental and regulatory requirements. Oversees the inspection, maintenance and repair of all BC operation facilities, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, buildings, grounds, parking lots, driveways and farm and packaging equipment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**1. Facility, Building and Equipment Maintenance**:

- Maintain and improve the equipment and facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements
- Responsible for the overall security and protection of the Company’s assets, including all facilities, buildings, premises and equipment
- Conducts and documents regular facility, building and premises inspections
- Manages the upkeep and maintenance of all facilities, buildings, premises and equipment by performing repairs or contracting appropriate services as needed
- Supervises maintenance activities and the repair of facilities and equipment
- Responds as necessary to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving facilities, buildings, premises and equipment including alarms and system failures
- Obtains quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers in relation to new equipment, and required services and repairs to buildings, facilities, and premises
- Negotiates relevant service contracts to optimize delivery and cost savings
- Coordinates and monitors the activities of contractors, verifying the accuracy and completion of work performed
- Contracts out necessary services, including landscaping and snow removal services, ensuring uninterrupted ser-vice to all locations
- Ensures compliance with all safety and security protocols
- Responds to requests for emergency maintenance services and delegates as required
- Oversees the management of the Preventative Maintenance Program, ensuring all tasks are completed on a timely basis
- Ensures the completion of daily, weekly and monthly checklists for building equipment procedures, maintaining detailed, accurate records of maintenance procedures directly associated with food safety and SQF food pro-grams
- Plans projects and major repairs, ordering required materials, and sourcing replacement parts as needed
- Conducts periodic reviews of existing equipment and buildings, planning for repairs or upgrades, which may include tendering project bids

**2. Strategic Planning**:

- Assists in the planning, development and implementation of value add farm strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the Company
- Ensures budget targets are met through strategic planning, the management of costs, and monitoring of contin-uous improvement initiatives and efficiencies
- Develops and implements cost reduction initiatives for facility services, equipment and maintenance
- Manages and reviews existing service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met in the most cost efficient manner possible
- Uses best practices to manage and reduce operation costs in relation to facility maintenance, buildings and equipment
- Provides input for annual budget preparations for all Western facilities
- Generates and presents regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases

**3. Continuous Improvement**:

- Provides advice and recommendations to the President/CEO and Market President regarding construction, alterations, maintenance, materials, supplies, equipment and services not provided in approved plans and/or budgets
- Works collaboratively with other departments to improve and develop new and existing processes for the profit-ability of all stakeholders
- Implements best practice processes to increase efficiency
- Calculates and compares costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
- Coordinates activities with respect to the implementation of new project management
- Tracks building upkeep as well as anticipated long
- and short-term improvements and maintenance

**4. Environmental and Regulatory Compliance**:

- Monitors and verifies that all farms consistently operate in compliance with company policies, all applicable public laws and regulatory requirement, including but not limited to Environment, Employment, and Health and Safety regulations.
