**JOB SUMMARY**
We are looking for an energetic and passionate Purchaser/Inventory Control Lead, who will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, and manage the inventory of materials by conducting cycle and quarterly physical counts. **ROLE EXPECTATIONS**:
**Sourcing**:
- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Take on a product category in wholesale and assist with procurement
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Minimize product shorts and freeze down by process planning with sales and operations
- Analyze and find volume buying opportunities and source new products that drive margin growth
**Inventory Control**:
- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs and minimize dead stock
- Conducting monthly cycle counts and quarterly physical counts
- DTEC code management for product inventory
- Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
**Additional Duties**:
- Manage sourcing of specialty and essential brands
- Support with Value-Add programs
- Find sustainable and eco friendly sourcing options for boxes, packaging, strapping etc
- Vacation coverage as needed for other departments
- Other duties as assigned
**ROLE QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 1+ years of experience as a buyer or inventory control
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field is an asset.
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $50,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
