**Description**:
We are looking for a self-motivated insurance professional who is business minded, results driven, and customer focused, with the ability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines.

Reporting to the Underwriting Supervisor, the **Intermediate Commercial** **Underwriter** will be responsible for the day-to-day activities involved in underwriting property and casualty business within our Winnipeg Branch.

This individual will report to the Winnipeg office in the Richardson Centre and enjoy the flexibility of being able to work from home a few days per week.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain an established broker portfolio to ensure profitability, retention and service standards are met
- Produce and analyze new submission requests for acceptance and establish pricing and terms in accordance with the Company Guidelines
- Underwrite and negotiate renewal accounts for profitability
- Decisions made within assigned level of authority
- Maintain a good working knowledge of Company wordings, wording updates and new product releases
- Delivers exceptional service to our brokers while ensuring quality underwriting standards are adhered to
- Conduct regular broker meetings to promote and market the Company’s products and to maintain positive business relationships
- Represent the Company at industry functions
- Keep informed of evolving market conditions and pricing
- Meet and exceed individual and regional growth and profitability targets

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 3 to 5 years Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting or broker experience.
- General knowledge of commercial property and casualty wordings
- Strong analytical, assessment, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good sales and negotiation skills, self-motivated, comfortable doing presentations.
- Good computer and keyboarding skills and familiarity with MS Office software.
- Completion of or working towards a CIP or FCIP designation.
