Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the **Marketing & Media Specialist** is responsible for supporting and executing the strategic and creative marketing plans to enhance our brand positioning and marketing initiatives that support the brand portfolio at Maison Birks and Birks Group Boutiques. The specialist will provide support and execute various coop marketing activities including media bookings, negotiating advertising space, coordination artwork request, events, press requests etc. that contribute to brand relevance and drive traffic and sales to help achieve the Company’s goals and objectives.

Under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager, the **Marketing & Media Specialist** will be responsible for:

- Work closely with our brand partners to strategize, build and execute marketing and communication plans both owned and paid channels, in close collaboration with the Branded Jewellery & Timepieces department.
- Supports and execute various projects for our brand partners including but not limited to media, digital marketing, events, promotions, visual merchandising, gifting programs and product introductions.
- Request and coordinate marketing assets from our brand partners and diffuse to the appropriate departments, such as Ecommerce, Digital, Social Media, Public Relations agency, Media agencies, Retail operations and suppliers.
- Negotiate advertising space, research rates, and collaborate with various media outlets and agencies for both traditional and digital media.
- Keep internal media files up to date with media kits, industry research figures, including distribution figures for newspapers, magazines and out of home statistics, recap reports etc.
- Coordinate all artwork requests in relation to all the marketing and communications plans.
- Manage the monthly media calendar and budget to share with internal departments.
- Responsible for building post-mortem documents and KPI reports to be shared with internal departments and external partners.
- Manage the execution of related marketing initiatives via project management tool (Asana) by assigning tasks to key departments to ensure a successful campaign launch.
- Oversee and track any marketing related invoices for all Maison Birks and Birks Group Boutique and provide accurate reports to the Marketing Administrator. Exercise disciplined budget management.
- Support Senior Marketing Manager with any other relevant marketing tasks and miscellaneous marketing requests to facilitate the department and get us to a more efficient and effective way of doing business.

**EDUCATION**:
Bachelor Degree in Marketing or equivalent;
**EXPERIENCE**
- 2-5 years experience in Marketing
- Experience in traditional and digital advertising management preferred
- Event management is an asset

**SKILLS**
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and dynamic environment while communicating with other team members and departments;
- Highly organized and able to plan tasks according to their priority;
- Awareness of online and printed media channels;
- Excellent communication (writing and verbal) and presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office;
- Problem solving skills and ability to tackle obstacles head-on with agility and finesse Understanding of fashion and/or luxury retail environment is a plus;
- Bilingual: French and English (spoken/written).
