The Manager, Network Operations Centre (NOC) is a crucial senior-level role within Payworks’ IT Infrastructure team. Overseeing our NOC, you will use your leadership qualities and technical expertise to ensure Payworks’ technology systems, networks, servers, and other infrastructure components are always online, available and performing to strict standards. In addition to executing on policies and procedures for infrastructure monitoring, alerting, incident response, and capacity planning, you will lead, mentor and engage a team of NOC analysts to excel at what they do.

As a Manager with Payworks, you will be responsible for guiding the team towards achieving goals while exercising your people skills by building a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous learning within the NOC team. Working closely with your team, you will participate in all people functions including performance development, recruitment, onboarding and continuous learning.
- ** Enhance operations** - You will develop and implement various operational procedures, policies, and best practices to standardize workflows and optimize efficiency across NOC operations. Continuously monitoring network traffic, server and system performance metrics, and alerts, you will establish benchmarks to measure performance and proactively identify and address potential issues and bottlenecks. Maintained documentation will be key to ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- ** Plan for the future** - Through careful analysis research and testing, you will ensure scalability and elasticity in a rapidly growing environment. Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and improve network operations efficiency. Our team will look to you for recommendations on infrastructure investments and expansion strategies as well as upgrades, enhancements, or architectural changes to ensure that the network and system infrastructure can scale effectively to meet future needs.
- ** Collaborate internally** - While you will own the monitoring and alerting platforms, you will support, collaborate and cooperate with cross-functional teams, including IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, and IT Security to resolve escalated incidents and outages promptly.

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED***:

- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent working experience in a similar position will also be considered.
- Approximately 6+ years of network operations experience.
- Approximately 3+ years of experience in a people leadership role, including conducting performance reviews and participating in hiring processes.
- Experience with SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits as a control owner or performer.
- Strong technical knowledge of vmware, network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies; additional infrastructure experience and knowledge considered an asset (network, servers, security, VMware, storage, VoIP).
- Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring and management tool suites.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent customer service, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organizat
