The Orientation, Training, and Safety Coordinator at Cedars Recovery, reporting to the HR Manager, is pivotal in aligning our operations with the organization's mission, vision, and culture. This role encompasses welcoming and orienting new staff to their roles while ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines and protecting patient rights. Through engagement with staff, the Coordinator fosters a culture of safety and quality improvement, emphasizing a patient-centered approach. Overall, the Coordinator plays a critical role in upholding Cedars Recovery's commitment to excellence and compassionate care.
**SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Training, Scheduling, and Compliance**: - Clinical Scheduling & Support: Maintain and update the daily patient schedule to ensure smooth clinical operations.
- Policy & Compliance Oversight: Ensure staff understand and adhere to Cedars' policies and procedures.
- Staff Training & Orientation: Develop, update, and conduct training programs, including new staff orientations and role-specific courses.
- Training & Certification Tracking: Maintain digital records of staff training, track certification renewals, and coordinate required training sessions.
- Licensing & Accreditation Support: Assist departments in understanding and meeting licensing and accreditation standards.
- Flexibility and Scheduling: Maintain flexibility to ensure timely completion of orientations and training sessions as needed.
- Scheduling Role-Specific Training: Work in tandem with department Managers to arrange role-specific training courses, such as First Aid, Non-Violent Communication Workshops, and Indigenous Safety Training, among others.
- Tracking Training Records: Establish and maintain a digital record of staff organizational training records, including tracking certification renewal dates to ensure compliance.

**Health, Safety, and Emergency Preparedness**: - OHS Committee Leadership: Serve as Co-Chair of the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Committee, contributing to workplace safety initiatives.
- Emergency Drills & Compliance: Schedule and oversee emergency preparedness drills and track staff participation.
- First Aid & Safety Support: Administer first aid as needed and provide guidance on workplace safety best practices.
- Emergency Response Plan: Responsible for maintaining and updating the Emergency and Disaster Response Plan.

**Supporting the Operations Department**: - Social Committee Leadership: Co-chair the Cedars Social Committee, organizing staff engagement events within an annual budget.
- HR Administrative Support: Assist with hiring tasks (e.g., reference checks, scheduling interviews), conduct site inspections, manage meeting logistics, and collaborate with department managers to improve safety and operations.
- Leaflet Newsletter: Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to craft a weekly staff newsletter, the Leaflet, keeping all team members informed and engaged.
- Participation in Meetings and Workshops: Attend staff meetings and personal/professional development workshops as requested, actively contributing insights and expertise.
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other related duties as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in supporting organizational needs.
- Collaboration with Department Managers: Consistently collaborate with managers from different departments to provide education and information aimed at bridging gaps in safety and operational knowledge across the organization.

**QUALIFICATIONS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
