The **Research and Business Intelligence Officer **is a member of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health’s (the “Foundation”) Campaign Operations and Business Intelligence Team who will support the development and maintain a new business intelligence system, support the development of management information strategy and strengthen and streamline prospect research and prospect management processes.

Reporting to the Director, Campaign Operations & Business Intelligence, the **Research and Business Intelligence Officer **is an important contributor to the Royal Ottawa Foundation’s culture, driven by inclusivity, collaboration, and our strategic framework. A curious, analytical and proactive thinker with a commitment to agile principles, you work well independently and collaboratively with related key internal and external partners.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
**_Prospect Research & Prospect Management_**
- Carry out strategic, accurate and timely prospect research which may include prospect profiles, prospect identification, review & qualification, targeted screening, etc.
- Investigate and analyze complex forms of information for the development of comprehensive and strategic briefings to support development activities.
- Align prospective donors’ interests with The Royal’s organizational and strategic priorities.
- Conduct and support research and analytics projects, which may involve trend analysis, environmental scans, economic trends, competitive analysis, and pipeline and financial analysis.
- Maintaining a strong commitment to ethical prospect research practices and producing accurate, insightful research and data-driven work.
- Establish a strong prospect pipeline that leads to relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Support a ‘moves management’ tracking system to support fundraisers.

**_ Data Analytics & Management_**
- Support an information driven culture by deriving conclusions and identifying trends through analysis of internal and external data.
- Implement ongoing prospect development strategy and data integrity initiatives.
- Design and produce regular and ad-hoc auditing reports to ensure data integrity of key prospect data, including ratings, assignments, cultivation approaches, proposals, and prospect groups.
- Manage the collection, storage, maintenance and retrieval of donor and stakeholder insights.
- Ensure a high level of data quality and integrity in Raiser’s Edge through timely and accurate data entry, record maintenance and prospect tracking.
- Provide recommendations on the development of standard operating procedures related to management of prospect data and data to support tracking fundraising activities.

**_ Business Intelligence _**
- Support the development of customised, usable dashboards and reports in QlikSense.
- Learn and fully understand the data landscape of the Foundation’s business systems.
- Understand the end-to-end life cycle of our data to effectively review and validate the data within it relevant to business intelligence reporting.
- Actively participate in and contribute to architecture/design discussions and decisions.
- Gather end user reporting and dashboard requirements.
- Support users with the navigation and interpretation of dashboards.
- Communicate insights from data across the organization to influence improvements to standard operating procedures.
- Support the creation of the management information strategy and create standard operating procedures relevant for business intelligence.
- Proactively identify opportunities for system improvement and business intelligence enhancements.

**_ Other_**
- Participate in fundraising initiatives for special events and projects required from time-to-time.
- Participate and support Foundation, Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG), and Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR) committees as required.
- Work in manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal.
