YOUR CHALLENGE
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, North America you will support Boralex’s procurement activities, including participating in procurement of key equipment (e.g., wind turbines, solar modules, invertors, batteries) and services (e.g., engineering, contractors) required in support of the execution of Boralex’ renewable energy and storage projects, as well as sourcing, analysing and managing commercial and technical information in accordance with purchasing best practices and company policies and procedures.
Working closely with various groups within Boralex, you are someone who stands out for your analytical skills, penchant for organization, and ability to collaborate. As part of Boralex' procurement activities, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Evaluate and report on technical and commercial industry trends.
- Continuously research and identify potential new suppliers and conduct evaluations of them.
- Participate in conducting due diligence reviews of current and potential suppliers.
- Participate in preparation and management of RFPs in line with Boralex’ standards, including evaluation of bids received.
- Participate in negotiations with equipment and services suppliers.
- Participate in maintaining Boralex’s information library of equipment and contacts.
- Prepare presentations and reports to management.
- Support implementation of Boralex’ CSR strategy into the procurement process.
- Other duties and assignments needed for the procurement function efficient performance.
NB This position may include occasional travel in North America and abroad.
YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in administration, engineering or equivalent.
- More than three years of relevant experience in electric power industry, preferably with renewable and/or storage projects.
- Experience in searching information and analyzing data.
- Experience evaluating, synthesizing, and communicating market and legislative risks and opportunities.
- Experience in procurement is an asset.
- Intellectual rigour, diligence, teamwork, and proactivity are all highly valued.
- Bilingual (French and English) oral and written.
