**Position Summary**

The Live out Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities with daily activities. The Live Out Assistant works in collaboration with other team members to ensure consistency and nurture the well-being, growth and development of Core Members. This applies to various aspects of daily life (including the provision of direct care supports, skill building, and goal achievement for core members, personal care needs, money management, medical care, appointments, family and work connections, household chores, administration of medications, meal preparation, transportation etc.) in accordance with the principles, values and philosophy of L’Arche. This is a permanent, guaranteed hour role (currently averages 35-40 hours/week) which includes Group Insurance Benefits and opportunities for continued growth.

**Qualifications include**:

- 1-2years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs/dual diagnosis is an asset
- valid G class driver’s license in good standing and proof of insurance for a minimum of 3 years - a requirement of this position is driving.
- ability to commit to a weekly schedule which includes a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend support times of various lengths.
- Must have the ability to pass police background check including vulnerable sector screening
- current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and/or First Aid/CPR certification an asset
- post-secondary education in a related field an asset

**Salary**: $19.86-$21.46 per hour
