Our two campuses (in Langley and Burnaby) are the only BC Independent Schools also dual-accredited as therapeutic Positive Youth Development Programs (by CARF, the same organization that accredits BC hospitals). Our Burnaby campus is small and close-knit, with 7-8 staff supporting 30-35 students in grades 8-12. We serve a variety of truly great kids who arrive with an array of learning needs and personal challenges (such as anxiety, depression, dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD). Not only do our unique programs work wonders, kids love being here too: "Thank you for the best year of my life I can't wait to come back" **A Little About the Job & Who Were Looking For** The **School Administrative Assistant & Community Coordinator** is a multi-faceted role that blends administrative responsibilities with student and family engagement. **The position involves**: - **Front-desk reception & office management** handling calls, organizing records, assisting staff with daily operations, and ensuring things run smoothly. - **Being a welcoming presence** greeting students and families, fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere, and helping students feel seen and supported. - **Helping coordinate school and community engagement activities** supporting events, field trips, student-led initiatives, and communications with families. - **Supporting students as needed** offering occasional tutoring, mentoring, or emotional support in a way that feels natural. - **Assisting the Executive Director and other staff** helping with program logistics and coordination. Were looking for someone with warmth and compassionsomeone who is calm, caring, and naturally great with students and familiesbut also proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented. The ability to multi-task and help keep the program running smoothly day-to-day is key. Great communication and listening skills matter, as you would be the first inviting smile students see when they come in the door each morning and the first reassuring voice parents hear on the phone. **Flexibility**: While the core responsibilities remain the same, we recognize that the right person brings their own strengths.
