**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services. You will be responsible for assisting with patient intake, performing preliminary tests, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history and performing initial assessments.
- Measure and record vital signs as needed.
- Assist in the administration of eye exams and other diagnostic tests.
- Maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Manage optical inventory and assist patients with eyewear selection.
- Utilize EMR systems, including Epic, to document patient information accurately.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Provide support in front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
- Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to facilitate patient care and follow-up.

**Skills**
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to eye care.
- Experience in a medical office setting, preferably within optometry or ophthalmology.
- Familiarity with retail sales processes and retail math principles.
- Ability to perform basic medical coding and billing tasks.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems for efficient patient documentation.
