**Horaire**:Lundi au vendredi de 9h00 à 16h00
- L’accompagnateur est responsable de soutenir l'intégration et l'inclusion des enfants ayant des besoins particuliers dans notre camp de jour. Il fournira des interventions individualisées basées sur les besoins des enfants. L’accompagnateur est attentif à la dynamique de groupe et assure un environnement qui favorise le respect de la diversité. Il développera des relations significatives avec les jeunes et leurs parents/tuteurs et fournira un soutien, des encouragements et un suivi continus tout au long de l'été._

**Tâches et responsabilités**
- Accompagner les enfants lors des activités récréatives.
- Aider les enfants à apprendre et à pratiquer diverses compétences ainsi qu’à développer des relations avec leurs pairs.
- Soutenir le personnel dans l'adaptation ou la modification des activités et des moyens de participation au besoin.
- Mener des discussions autour de la différence avec les jeunes.
- Mettre en œuvre un plan d'intervention au besoin.
- Assurer la sécurité et le bien-être des enfants pendant les heures de programme.
- Bilinguisme : Une langue peut être plus forte que l'autre.
- Expérience de travail avec des enfants ayant des comportements difficiles et/ou des difficultés socio-émotionnelles.
- Sensibilité envers les enfants ayant des besoins particuliers, y compris des retards d'apprentissage et/ou de développement.
- Expérience en interventions individuelles et programmation adaptée.
- Expérience d'animation de discussions autour de la différence avec les jeunes.
- Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe, à prendre des initiatives et des responsabilités, à faire preuve de créativité et de patience et à être capable de pratiquer l'écoute active.
- Capacité à gérer le stress, à être flexible et adaptatif, à résoudre des problèmes et à demander conseil si nécessaire.

**Location**:2365 Grand Trunk, Pointe Saint Charles, Montreal QC

**Hours**: Full time (35 hours per week) June 16th to August 1

**Schedule**:Monday-Friday, 9 am to 4 pm
- Shadows are responsible for supporting the integration and inclusion of children with special needs in our day camp. Shadows will provide individualized interventions based on the needs of the children. Shadows are alert to group dynamics and assure an environment which promotes respect for diversity. The shadow will develop a supportive relationship with children and their caregivers, and provide ongoing support, encouragement and follow-up._

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Support children during recreational activities
- Support children in learning and practicing various skills, and in developing relationships with peers
- Support staff in adapting or modifying activities and means of participation as needed
- Lead discussions around difference with youth
- Implement intervention plan when needed
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children during program hours

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Bilingualism: One language might be stronger than the other.
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and/or socio-emotional difficulties
- Sensitivity towards children with specific needs, including learning and/or developmental delays
- Experience with one-on-one interventions and adapted programming
- Experience animating discussions around difference with youth
- Ability to work both independently and as a team, to take initiative and responsibility, to be patient and open
- Capacity to manage stress, to be flexible and adaptive, to problem solve and to seek guidance when needed

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 weeks

Pay: $18.00 per hour
