**Job description**

As a Special Needs Assistant, your role would be to provide one on one shadow services to children with various degrees of both verbal and non-verbal special needs in a camp setting. Working in conjunction with other counsellors, you would accompany them and monitor their safety through various group activities, games and events.

Once hired, applicants will be placed into a pool of available shadows to work throughout the summer and will be scheduled according to the weeks registered of the respective child.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist Head Consellor in all aspects of the summer camp including planning, training and implementation stages
- Assist supervising children in the summer camp
- Assist organizing activities, and ensure children are in a save environment
- Working with other camp staff members to plan and coordinate camp events.
- Leading and supporting campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
- Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
- Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
- Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to parents and camp staff.
- Memorizing all emergency procedures and enforcing camp rules.
- Participating in staff meetings.

**Salary**: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
