Directly supervise and record hourly production

Job Overview:
Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Lead Hand will be responsible for the daily planning of department resources (labour, materials, equipment) to meet production requirements. The Lead Hand will also oversee departmental manufacturing processes, organize and monitor workflow and maintain quality and safety standards throughout the plant.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team of up to 20 hourly production employees
- Review daily production schedule, and plan resources to meet production targets
- Train department employees on specific job tasks
- Review processes and assemblies for quality and conformance and uphold established quality standards
- Uphold all company safety policies and procedures
- Participate in production meetings, plant safety talks and continuous improvement initiatives
- Report any product or process deficiencies to department Supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated leadership skills
- At least 2 Years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with aluminum or steel panel fabrication (cutting, bending)
- Previous experience with panel processing equipment (Fiber laser, Shear, Brake Press) considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Geometry
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Ability to read manufacturing paperwork (production labels)
- Ability to read and utilize tape measure (specifically imperial measurement units)
- Ability to utilize hand tools (hammer, knife, pry bars) - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis - Flexibility to work overtime during during peak periods
