Lead Hand

We are currently seeking the following to join our Team: a Manufacturing Lead Hand to work **Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm (with overtime as required) or 4:30pm to 1:30am (with overtime as required)**.

These roles require a hands-on leader who will play an intermediate role between workers and supervisors.

Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Lead Hand will be responsible for the smooth and safe operation of their team, helping the workers to meet goals, and mediating concerns with upper management. The Lead Hand will also assist in the facilitation of the manufacturing of window products by overseeing processes, organizing and monitoring work flow and maintain quality and safety standards throughout the plant.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Communication liaison between management and employees
- Utilize workforce to create production schedules to achieve production goals and meet shipping deadlines
- Have complete understanding of the company’s objectives concerning safety, quality and productivity
- Operate production line if necessary in the absence of regular operator
- Participate in safety talks
- Organize work order schedule, raw material staging, finished good removal
- Assist in training of employees on various job duties
- Ensure Health & Safety policy and procedures are met; has strong working knowledge of relevant Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
- Ensure that all workers work in a proper manner and with the protective devices
- Look for opportunities to improve processes, reduce cost and minimize rework
- Manage a team of approximately 15-20 employees.
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing a team of approximately 15-20 people.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to work independently or within a team setting
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of factory safety requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Attention to detail and excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to motivate the employees
- Applied knowledge of safe material handling including power equipment

**Physical and Environmental Requirements**:

- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Exposure to dust, pollens and other allergens
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 42.5 per week
