The SEPI branch is a centre of excellence within the Consultation, Land and Policy CLP division. SEPI provides a strong foundation of policy development, strategic engagement, expert advice and relationship building through engagement, education, training, and capacity funding to ensure Alberta fulfills its duty to consult in matters related to land and natural resource management while considering the needs of all parties; including partner ministries, Indigenous communities and organizations, industry, municipalities and regulators.
**Role Responsibilities**:

If you have the skills and grit to navigate complex challenges, collaborate with diverse groups, and provide expert insights, we invite you to explore the role of our Engagement Analyst.
The Engagement Analyst assumes a critical position within the organization that straddles both research and analysis for policy development as well as engagement and consultation best practices. Your main focus will be in fostering inclusive practices and advancing Indigenous perspectives within land and natural resource management engagements and policy decisions. You will be a pivotal link between cross-ministry project teams and Indigenous groups and organizations. The Analyst is entrusted to offering guidance on engagement, analyzing outcomes, and formulating recommendations that drive senior-level decision-making. This multifacected role requires a combination of expertise in Indigenous engagement, political acumen and strategic thinking to effectively navigate through complex situations and spaces while maintaining key relationships and networks.

**Qualifications**:
4 years University graduation in a related field (natural resource/environmental management; social sciences; Indigenous studies; etc.) plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
**Experience**:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, adept at tailoring messages to diverse audiences.
- Presentation: capable of effectively conveying complex information.
- Record Management: leading successful coordination and maintenance of project files and both internal and external reporting systems.
- Research: qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis.
**Preferred**:
- Experience in Indigenous Engagement: Demonstrated experience in working with Indigenous communities or organizations, showcasing your ability to navigate cultural sensitivities, build meaningful relationships, and contribute effectively to Indigen
