The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for Justice. The division’s focus centers on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects. The Strategic Policy & Planning branch provides strategic and integrated policy and project services for the department of Justice a wide range of programs and services under department legislation. Role Responsibilities The Strategic Policy and Engagement Unit has an exciting opportunity available for professionals looking to leverage their skills in a dynamic and complex environment. As the Senior Engagement Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Strategic Engagement. The strategic engagement team supports internal and external stakeholder engagement and related project management activities to support strategic initiatives across the Ministry of Justice. As the Senior Engagement Analyst, you will require effective coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills to respond to sensitive, diverse, and complex issues pertaining to the justice system. As the Senior Engagement Analyst, you will be: Leading the development of strategic engagement plans to support ministry and government priorities. Working directly with department experts on engagement activities required to support legislative and policy priorities. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to plan, oversee, analyze, and coordinate implementation of high priority Justice policies and projects. Conducting engagement with both internal and external stakeholder to support strategic initiatives across the Ministry of Justice. Enabling and facilitating meetings, maintaining communications, building relationships, and tracking issues. Conducting research and policy analysis of relevant information to provide strategic advice and options on a number of major policy initiatives that support the Department’s strategic directions for the justice system. Qualifications University graduation in a related field. 4 years related experience. The following equivalencies may be considered: Certificate plus 7 years' related experience. Masters plus 2 year's related experience. 8 years of related experience in lieu of formal education. Assets: Experience writing reports, briefings, policy documents and cabinet reports, and/or presentations with recommendations to senior leadership. Experience with government systems, policy cycle and policy approval processes. Experience supporting or leading engagement activities including drafting strategic engagement plans and developing engagement materials.
