The Finance Assistant is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the Finance Department to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial records and childcare registrations for all BGCCVI programs.

**Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to**
- Balancing direct deposit reports and credit card payments from BGCCVI online registration system
- Submit claims and updating BGCCVI online registration with respect to childcare benefits
- Posting all Direct Deposits, Subsidy Payments and Stripe payments into SAGE
- Updating and maintaining electronic files on MS Teams
- Collecting required info from Program Supervisors to enable submission of monthly reports
- Assisting with creating and maintaining registration procedures for parents
- Provide information on attendance and occupancy numbers when required
- Support with maintaining financial processing and tracking
- Maintaining file management of all Finance forms and documents
- Support for organizational invoicing and tracking of supported child care wages through multiple agencies and ensuring collection of payments
- Compiling and completing data required for invoices and submitting for payment to outside support agencies
- Creating and dispersing monthly invoices for clients and outside agencies responsible for fees.
- Tracking and invoicing Fee For Service hours
**Qualifications**
Education
- College courses completed in finance/management
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a finance/administration environment
- Experience working with Data Management Systems
**Knowledge, skills and abilities**
- Understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical processing ability and data entry skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong customer service focus
- Proficient in Data Management Systems
- Decision making, problem analysis and problem-solving skills
**Working conditions**
Finance Assistant operates in an office environment working a standard work week with mínimal travel.
This position could be exposed to a high level of noise and distractions from children.
Job Status: Full-Time (31-35 hours per week)
**Salary**: $18.50/hour
