**Controller/Assistant Controller**

We are looking to amplify our impact and are currently looking for an Assistant Controller to oversee the day-to-today finances of the Company, develop financial policies and processes, and work closely with the leadership team on major initiatives.

To be successful in this role you must be willing to be hands on, as well as capable of contributing at a strategic level. You must have an exceptional attention to detail, an analytical thinker, and a desire to mentor newcomers as the finance department grows. Our ideal Assistant Controller is someone who has a strong business acumen, is working towards a Controller position, and is aligned with our mission to make this world a better place.

Your key responsibilities are:

- Manage the financial reporting, tax planning & compliance function of the business
- Coordinate activities with external auditors (Annual Review Engagement)
- Develop & implement internal controls around financial processes to improve efficiency
- Create comprehensive reports on the company's key metrics to support other leads
- Treasury management (Cash flow forecast, Budget process, Etc.)
- Oversee & support current accounting team
- Assist the CFO in various ad-hoc projects (Research, Funding, Business Review, Etc.)
- A desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- High achiever with proven success in previous roles or projects
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (Controllership, FP&A, Audit)
- Professional accounting designation: CA, CMA, or CGA
- Highly proficient in Excel

- Big 4 Experience is an Asset
- Financial modeling experience is an Asset
- Experience with Quickbooks considered an Asset
