**Position Summary**:The Human Resources Coordinator plays an essential role in various human resource functions through continuous improvement and implementation of best human capital management practices. Providing professional support to employees by providing front-line day to day operational support, including coaching and direction in all HR functional areas. As well as providing support to management by collaborating with operations to ensure that staffing needs are identified, targets are set and goals are attained. Contributing to people programs and practices that will attract, retain and engage the best talent available.

The HR Coordinator provides trusted guidance to employees and management in areas such as recruitment, Health and Safety, development, Employment Standards, Communication, and Group Benefits.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Effectiveness of developing and delivering on talent management goals
- Coordinate and schedule employee and manager training, in person and online, including safety and professional development training
- Provide training for hiring managers and others included in the interview and selection process consistent with Human Rights and other relevant legislation
- Effectiveness of collaboration with others within and outside of the Human Resources Department
- Effectiveness of planning and communication of progress, status and plans to key stakeholders
- Management of employee records, payroll records and the payroll system
- Partnering with JOHSC to support initiatives, including event tracking, reporting, file management and some administrative duties
- Aid in the development of HR policies and practices
- Ability to respond to inquiries with a high level of internal customer service
- Conduct exit interviews
- Influences company culture by modelling compelling HR and Health and Safety initiatives
- Acts as lead employee advocate while maintaining a clear perspective of the impact actions may have on stakeholders
- Develop company and industry knowledge to effectively support the operation and support services teams
- Ensure processes are in place to acquire, develop and retain top talent
- Actively participates in Health and Safety, production and team meetings
- Perform administrative duties to ensure all required data is collected and stored in an efficient and secure manner

**Education and Experience**
- College Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management
- Proven experience in a Human Resource administration role
- CPHR in progress considered an asset

- Decision making and problem-solving skills
- Able to be assertive (non-aggressive) in communicating with others
- Ability to retain focus while dealing with challenges and prioritize conflicting demands

**Working Conditions**

Travel Requirements - None

Physical Environment: 75% Office 25% Plant

Physical Demand: Moderate Intensity. Walking, sitting, lifting less than 5lbs occasionally. Consistent computer/laptop exposure. Climbing/descending stairs (72 step/6 flights) 2 to 3 times per week.

Mental Effort: Moderate intensity with occasional higher levels of mental effort
