Canoco Energy Ltd. is seeking a **Corporate Finance Assistant (Multi-Entity)** to support financial operations across a group of ~10 active operating and holding companies. This is a hands-on, in-office role ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants exposure to full-cycle corporate finance, multi-entity reporting, and administrative operations within a dynamic, growing energy business.

We’re looking for someone who is **eager to learn, takes initiative,** and is genuinely interested in building a long-term career in accounting and finance. You’ll be **fully supported by the Financial Controller,** with the opportunity to grow your technical skills, deepen your understanding of multi-entity operations, and gain experience with modern financial systems and audits. This is an excellent stepping stone toward a more senior accounting or finance role.

**What You’ll Do**

You’ll help drive financial accuracy, compliance, and administrative consistency across a broad portfolio of companies. Key responsibilities include:

- ** Month-End Close (Multi-Entity)**: Support journal entries, intercompany allocations, and GL reconciliations across ~10 companies.
- **Year-End Preparation**: Compile and reconcile working papers for external year-end reviews or audits.
- **Bank & Credit Reconciliations**: Complete timely reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities.
- **CRA Remittances**: Prepare and file **GST/HST, payroll deductions, and corporate tax instalments** across multiple CRA remitter accounts.
- **Payroll Support (Multi-Entity)**: Provide payroll-related assistance **as required**, including reconciliations, ROEs, and year-end summaries.
- **Accounts Payable/Receivable Support**: Assist with entering vendor invoices, customer billings, and payments in QuickBooks for smaller entities in the group.
- **Accounts Receivable Collection**: Assist with tracking, following up on, and resolving outstanding receivables across the group.
- **GL Reconciliations**: Maintain accurate general ledger balances and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- **AIMSIO to QBO Reconciliations**: Reconcile data between **field software (AIMSIO)** and **QuickBooks Online** to ensure clean, auditable financials.
- **Financial Reporting**: Assist in preparing **monthly and quarterly financial reports for shareholders**, including summaries, commentary, and supporting schedules.
- **Audit Support**: Assist in preparing audit documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- **Asset & Inventory Tracking**: Maintain up-to-date records of field and corporate assets by entity.
- **Insurance & Compliance Renewals**: Track and coordinate insurance, registration, and permit renewals across
- all entities.
- **Contract Review (Financial Lens)**: Assist in reviewing contracts to identify financial obligations, risks, and accounting implications when needed.
- **Other Administrative Duties**: Provide general financial admin support as needed across the group.

**What You Bring**
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or actively pursuing CPA)
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations
- **Strong understanding of GAAP principles**:

- Experience in multi-entity accounting and compliance processes
- **Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills**, including XLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), and other functions for financial analysis and reconciliation
- **Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO)** is a strong asset
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to being on-site **every business day, on time**:

**Compensation & Benefits**
- ** Starting Salary Range**: CAD **$60,000-$65,000 per year**, depending on experience
- **Group Benefits**: Comprehensive health & dental plan
