Summary of this role:
This role is suitable for someone who has education and/or experience with event production and/or journalism, and who is looking to be part of a team to shape up future of the organization.

This individual will assist with contents and speaker liaise for Institutional Connect’s event portfolio and content initiatives. He/she will assist with the full event cycle from outreach, onboarding speakers, to compiling and editing program, managing program logistics to onsite delivery. Working in a highly competitive market, he/she would leverage industry knowledge, sales skills, professionalism, strong business acumen in achieving goals. This individual will also contribute to the expansion of event portfolios and business models.

Key responsibilities:

- Assisting with managing event contents and speaker relationship throughout event cycle, from concept to realization;
- Keeping up-to-date on industry trends, through researching, reading and speaking with leading industry people;
- Identifying and working with key industry constituents on theme and contents;
- Compiling program with dual objectives of serving attendee and sponsor needs;
- Making intelligent outreach to senior level speakers from pension fund organizations, with the goal of converting them to speakers;
- Achieving program milestones (research, provisional program, speakers, finalization) by reasonable deadlines;
- Organizing pre-event speaker calls to optimize delivery of contents;
- On event dates, actively participating at the events to monitor program content delivery;
- Working with select speakers on generating contents;
- Participating in content marketing strategies, compiling marketing copies to maximize responses from potential attendees and sponsors;
- Participating in strategies on new event and business model ideas;
- Researching industry trends from media and through occasional participation at events, on an ongoing basis;
- Other related duties as assigned.

Desired qualification and experiences:

- Post-secondary education in finance, business management or related fields an asset;
- 1 - 3 years experience in event production, business development or other client facing roles;
- Experience of working with a lesser-known brand name and successfully connecting with senior level executives;
- Experience of working with multiple decision-makers within an organization and achieving objectives;
- Experience of working with new markets or new service offerings with demonstrated results;
- Experience with working with institutional investors or asset management firm industries an asset.

Compensation:

- Compensation comprises of base salary, bonuses and benefits package.
