Sorrentino's Cucina + Bar is a well-known Italian restaurant group, recognized for its diverse culinary offerings, private event planning, and a long-standing reputation for quality. Our Downtown location is a great place for guests to enjoy fine-dining Italian cuisine and relax with friends and family. We are constantly seeking ambitious individuals who want to grow with our company as we continue to expand.

Our Downtown location is just a quick four-minute stroll from the 102 St LRT station and only two minutes from the Churchill Connector. We are also located across the street from the Edmonton Public Library

**Description**

Our Host/Hostess is the face of the restaurant, responsible for greeting guests with genuine hospitality, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations. This role requires a friendly demeanour, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage the reservation and phone system, cancellations, and guest preferences using our reservation system.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the restaurant's menu, including specials and promotions.
- Provide information about the restaurant, menu, or special promotions when guests ask.
- Ensure high-traffic areas near the entrance and dining room are organized and free from clutter.
- Assist in managing special events, large parties, or VIP guests to ensure all guest needs are met.
- Help other team members as needed, maintaining a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
- Assist in the overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, especially during transitions between seating times.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes and operational standards.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role (preferred but not required).
- Professional in appearance and demeanour for a fine-dining restaurant.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage reservations and coordinate seating efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Fluent in English.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times.
- A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.
