Vancouver, Canada YWCA Metro Vancouver Full time

Responsible for the hotel maintenance, including maintaining the building, grounds and operations of the hotel with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides leadership and supervision to the unionized operations, maintenance and building service staff.
- Demonstrates leadership in guest hospitality, providing excellent guest service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
- Distributes preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitors timeliness and quality of completion.
- Ensure that work performed by contractors is well-planned, properly scheduled and monitored
- Responsible for hotel equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems
- Ensure optimum operation of the hotels mechanical systems
- Perform monthly inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
- Assist in preparation and development of the annual operating & capital budget; research and report on various equipment and systems for purchase or upgrade.
- Ensures building and equipment licenses and certifications are current.
- Permanent member of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and responsible for all security, life safety and regulatory requirement of YWCA hotel building
- Promote and ensure sustainable operational practices

**Qualifications**:

- Five years related supervisory/management experience in a unionized environment and facility management that involves multi-tenants and project management experience
- Facility Operation and Management Certificate, Power Engineering (4th Class)
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask and determine work plans for staff
- Well organized, team player with strong communication skills
- Valid BC Driver’s license and a vehicle
- Ability to work varied shifts and weekends
- Positive criminal record check clearance
- Mandatory Vaccine Disclosure is required
