**General Function**

The Extraction Operator is a critical position in the manufacturing of our products. Those who are in this position are responsible for the safe and efficient blending and extraction of products as per customer requirements. They must follow all instructions for lading, blending, extracting and dumping of products. The Extraction Operator plays a lead role in the manufacturing process. It is his responsibility to ensure that product is processed as per required standards in a safe and efficient manner. He/She is responsible for the cleaning of the equipment as per instructions outlined.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures all activities and proceeding are in compliance with Policies and Regulations concerning Plant Safety, Production and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Loading sacks of raw material into pallets (two-worker operation, sacks not heavier than 25 Kg).
- Forklift operation to empty the bags into grinder) two-worker operation, waist level work).
- Forklift operation to store totes of ground raw material (weight of totes ranging from 300 to 600Kg).
- Forklift operation to hang totes overhead when material is ready for processing (two-worker operation, mainly steering).
- Loading extraction baskets by gravity feed (baskets moved around by trolleys).
- Basket assembling and hoisting to extraction floor level (assembling is performed by pneumatic wrench and lifting by electric hoist)
- Unloading extracted baskets (reverse operation as above).
- Disposal of residue from inside the baskets (lift and tilt by strap-hoist and emptying to a hopper and augering into a tote).
- Collecting extracted resins and oils (by either draining into a drum, or by sliding/pushing heavy resin out from separator’s sleeve.
- Other duties as assigned.

**A) Knowledge and Experience**
- Trained to operate the Extractors, Grinding equipment, cranes and associated equipment safety.
- Forklift certification (will train if needed)
- Competent communication skills
- Competent computer knowledge
- Detail orientation in regards to organization, equipment function, and cleanliness
- Ability to work with the team and act independently to achieve standards

**B) Supervision**:

- The position is the lead operator - supervision is the responsibility of the Extraction Supervisor

**C) Authority**:

- Safe operation of equipment
- To identify equipment malfunctions, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
- To initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity.
- To identify and record any product quality problems.
