**Position**: Title: Catering Sales & Events Enthusiast/Manager**Reports To**: Director of Sales & Marketing/Lead Sales Enthusiast**Position Summary**:

- Develop business through direct sales solicitation; secure new accounts, maintain existing accounts and execute tactical sales plans strategy to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Market Segments to Include but are not limited to Social, SMERF, and Weddings.***
**Catering Sales & Events Enthusiast/Manager Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Establish a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, and social-based entities through direct outside and inside sales efforts to secure business for the hotel to ensure that catering revenue goals are met or exceeded. Actively prospect and qualify new business.
- Negotiate meeting room rental, function space, menus, and/or hotel services, and possibly associated event guestrooms, within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders.
- Detail own accounts and service all Events personally booked.
- Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include all hotel departments.
- Interact with outside contacts:

- Guests - to ensure their total satisfaction
- To ensure repeat business, follow up on events, and generate new business from those segments within Social (Holiday Parties, Graduations, etc)
- Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, wedding planners, community groups)
- Check function room set-ups prior to guest arrival, ensuring all details are in agreement with the client’s requirements and hotel standards, as needed. Ensure deficiencies are corrected by the appropriate personnel.
- Welcome group contact upon arrival at the function and ensure guest satisfaction if needed.
- Monitor and handle inquiry calls in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g proposals, contracts, banquet event orders).
- Follow up with guests regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
- Manage Contract Minimums as outlined by the Hotel.
- Attend and represent the hotel at trade shows wedding shows, and/or participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.
- Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
- Entertain clients in accordance with established company and hotel policies and guidelines.
- Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Produce monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Assist in developing and implementing sales action plans as assigned.
- May assist the client in menu planning. May coordinate food, beverage, table arrangements and decorations with Banquet Department.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing, GM or ownership.

**ACCOUNTABILITY**:

- This job is a sales professional with established sales goals.**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- A post-secondary school degree/diploma, in a sales or business discipline, from an academic institution, is preferred.
- Two or more years of experience working in a similar sales role.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills
- Conscientiousness and attention to detail.
