**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Food Preparation**:

- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Portion, slice, dice, and marinate meats, fish, and poultry as per recipe requirements.
- Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients for cooking according to recipes or chef instructions.
- Assist with basic cooking tasks such as assembling salads, sandwiches, and other simple dishes.

**2. Kitchen Organization and Safety**:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food prep stations, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all food items are labeled, dated, and stored according to food safety standards.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to prevent cross-contamination.

**3. Inventory Management**:

- Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries, inspecting for quality and freshness.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation practices to minimize waste.

**4. Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with chefs and cooks to ensure timely preparation and service.
- Respond promptly to kitchen needs during peak hours.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with additional tasks as needed.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
**Experience and Certification**:

- At least one year of experience in food preparation or a similar kitchen role.
- Must hold a valid food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).

**Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation best practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and portion ingredients accurately.
