We currently have an opening for an **IT Systems Administrator** at our office in **Vancouver, BC Canada**. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who wants to develop with a rapidly growing company.
- NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in the office._
**About the Opportunity**:
Specific accountabilities include:
- Ensures the Helpdesk responds professionally to user requests within service level objectives;
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, providing technical support to end-users to minimize downtime and disruptions with a multitude of different software;
- Maintain and update computer hardware and software to ensure they are up to date and functioning correctly;
- Administer Azure and M365 subscriptions and resources, including access and up-time of services;
- Perform Active Directory, DNS, and group policy administration tasks;
- Participate in 24/7 monitoring and support of production resources;
- Perform regular data backups and develop disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.;
- Proactively monitor all critical systems to identify problems before they result in failures;
- Ensure systems are compliant with relevant regulations and security standards to protect sensitive data and mitigate risks;
- Provide office support for phone, conferencing, and office access control;
- Provide project support as directed by the Manager, IT;
- Maintain detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure, configurations, and procedures to facilitate efficient management and troubleshooting;
- Intuitively finds, explores, develops, and presents information on best practices to management and customers to meet current and/or future needs;
- Through observation, exercise deductive reasoning in diagnostics, and troubleshooting using best practices to solve problems;
- Display independent learning for self-improvement and for the benefit of Transoft;
- Ability to work towards targets that will improve the overall quality of IT Services;
- Setup and manage instances of cloud infrastructure services.
**About You**:
- You have a Post-secondary degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- You have proven experience as a System admin or in a similar role.
- You possess proficiency with VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other network security technologies. Industry certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or AWS are a plus.
- You have at least 3 years of IT Systems Admin experience in a 100+ network user environment, deploying and managing MS-Windows Servers (2012 and later).
- You have a minimum of 1 year of experience administering a virtual environment (VMWare and/or Hyper-V).
- Through observation, you exercise deductive reasoning in diagnostics and troubleshooting, using best practices to solve problems.
- You notice all the details and have demonstrated an ability to troubleshoot, analyze, research, and develop solutions to problems.
- You are customer-focused and can manage multiple priorities and customer demands, working towards targets that will improve the overall quality of IT Services.
- You intuitively find, explore, develop, and present information on best practices to management and customers to meet current and/or future needs.
- You have a good command of the English language and can communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully.
- You have applied skills in IT hardware, software, and services from laptops to servers, switches, and routers.
- You possess strong DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Group Policy administration skills; Windows Server and Desktop administration skills; and MS Office skills.
- Your knowledge in setting up and maintaining audio and visual equipment is considered an asset.
