**Position Overview**:
The HR Generalist will be required to absorb a diversified range of organization-specific information to be able to implement the policies, programs, procedures the duties in the recruiting, human resources, and payroll functions. The HR Generalist will need to adapt and learn new procedures regularly and implement existing relevant knowledge to support the Human Resource function, managers, and employees within the organization. This position will be remote and will require occasional travel.

**Essential Functions**:
**PAYROLL (35%)**
- Perform bi-weekly payroll runs for employees and calculates adjustments in accordance with employment standards.
- Administer full-cycle payroll including new hires/transfers/terminations, ROEs.
- Comply with regulatory concerns and reporting.
- Work with managers to resolve timesheet exceptions and allocate labour costs to appropriate cost centers.
- Respond to internal pay related inquiries from employees in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with provincial & federal regulations for payroll taxes and other pay and benefit issues.
- Assist in the filing of CNESST, WSIB, WCB
- Year-end preparation T4 & T4A’s, RL-1, NR4 and all tax forms and government reports
- Comply with internal reporting requests within a timely manner to support regional and global initiatives.

**HUMAN RESOURCES (35%)**
- Onboarding activities including performing employee orientation and facilitating new employee training.
- Respond to employee HR related phone calls and inquiries with appropriate information.
- Employee development, training, and performance management
- Support compensation planning and research
- Coach managers on employee performance and conflict resolution
- Provide counselling to employees and managers on policies and procedures.
- Research and lead initiatives to improve company culture and employee alignment.
- Create and implement employee related programs - Health and Wellness, Engagement, etc.
- Update and improve the employee handbook in accordance with employment standards with the creation of new company policies and best practices.
- Create and update HR related forms for increased efficiency and workflow.
- Conduct investigations to complete injury reports with WSIB, WBC and CNESST authorities
- Conduct investigations in the workplace including harassment, complaints, Health, and Safety
- Follow up and assist managers and employees on HR matters.
- Collaborate with employees, managers, and teams in North America and globally to implement new initiatives within the organization.
- Assist with the execution and research of HR projects as required.

**RECRUITING (30%)**
- Create contracts and other agreements to support the hiring and promotion process.
- Implement improvements in the Talent Acquisition process.

**Qualification/Requirements**:

- University degree or diploma in Human Resources/Payroll, or in related field
- 3-4 years of related experience supporting Payroll functions or in equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
