Lightspeed Payments is looking for a Team Lead to drive a development squad within the Payments organization.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be the point-person for a feature team of software developers. You will be pivotal in delivering new features and services, and will directly manage individual team members. Under your guidance and leadership, the team will deliver Payments products and services that are mission-critical to Lightspeed's long-term vision and growth.

We're looking for a technical leader with great coding and architecture skills, who can also bring people management experience to the role. You will have a background in delivering high-scale cloud-based software systems, and managing direct reports of varying skill and experience levels. You will enjoy problem-solving and removing blockers to your team's progress, and will have experience collaborating with other teams and Product stakeholders in setting and meeting delivery goals. You will be an effective communicator for both technical and non-technical audiences, and can ensure your team's success in a distributed, fast-moving and rapidly-evolving agile environment.

**What you'll do**:

- Be the trusted leader and partner of a development team of 4-6 members
- Guide and motivate your team to solve complex business problems
- Work closely with other Payments teams, architects, leaders and product managers to align on approach and priorities
- Initiate and evolve the continuous improvement of our software delivery processes and practices
- Provide technical and process guidance to your team
- Participate in code reviews to teach and enforce high standards of quality
- Directly manage the individual members of your team, including ongoing performance management, goal-setting and technical growth
- Participate in alignment and strategy groups alongside other Team Leads, product stakeholders, and senior Payments technical management
- Help to recruit top talent for your team and Payments as a whole

**What you'll bring to the team**:

- Experience leading a team of developers through all stages of successful software delivery
- Advanced skills in Java 8+ and the Spring Boot framework
- Experience in managing individual contributors - 1-1s, reviews, promotions, performance plans, etc.
- Professional experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems
- Solid understanding of Agile development and continuous delivery best practices
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to coach, mentor and provide context to team members
- A passion to learn and continuously improve

**Some additional things that would be a bonus**:

- Full-stack web development experience (TypeScript, Node, React etc.) would be a big plus
- Solid knowledge of AWS cloud services
- Experience in the Payments domain
- Experience in delivering scalable SaaS solutions
- Project Management or Scrum master experience or formal training
- Experience in test automation and/or DevOps engineering
- French communication skills, particularly for technical discussions
