**About the Role**:
We are looking for a dedicated Production Technician to join our growing team. You will primarily be responsible for executing Standard Operating Procedures to assemble and Quality Control optical fibers. High precision while working with small parts will be critical for this role along with a focused attention to detail while entering data into the production systems. In this role you will also assist in cartridge assembly and QC of the consumable cartridge for our new innovative Alto instrument.
**Specific responsibilities of this role**:
- Process, assemble and perform quality checks on optical fibers
- Glue optical fibers into ferrules
- Manufacture the cartridge for the Alto instrument
- Set up and operate spray coater, lab ovens, glue robot, and other production equipment
- Stage and transfer materials into the cleanroom
- Organize tasks to achieve production targets
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Track inventory and quality data
- Continuous improvement of processes to optimize yield and efficiency
- Working with Product Development on process improvements as needed
- Perform other production tasks as required
**About You**:
You are highly organized and focused in your work and have a strong ability to execute complex processes systematically. You are self-motivated and able to work autonomously to meet production targets. You are passionate about continuous improvements in quality and efficiency, and you use critical thinking to help resolve and improve production processes. You thrive in a dynamic work environment and are excited about a career in a rapidly growing company in the biotech field
- Scrupulous attention to detail
- Able to stay highly focused when following an SOP
- Fine motor skills for precision work
- Meticulous in nature, even while performing repetitive tasks
- Organized and able to maintain a clean working environment
- Experience working in high-volume production with tight mechanical tolerances
- Preference will be given to graduates from a technical post-secondary program, ideally mechanical, photonics or chemistry-related. Or those with equivalent working experience
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Optic fibers
- ISO-13485 environment
- Experience working in a cleanroom
