General Manager

Position Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, and operational effectiveness of the Harbour Door Services branch in Victoria, BC. This role oversees sales, installation and service operations, finance, and administration. The Branch Manager ensures the branch delivers exceptional customer service, meets and exceeds financial and operational targets, and fosters a high-performance team culture aligned with the company’s values and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
- Provide overall leadership and direction to branch employees across sales, installation, service, and administration functions.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a strong team while fostering a positive and safety-focused workplace culture.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate company updates, branch goals, and performance results.
- Lead by example in maintaining professionalism, accountability, and customer-first values.

Sales & Business Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share in both residential and commercial garage doors, gates and service contracts.
- Build and maintain strong customer and contractor relationships to support repeat business and referrals.
- Oversee sales team activities including forecasting, pipeline management, and performance tracking.
- Support the pursuit of large or strategic accounts in collaboration with the General Manager.

Financial & Operational Management
- Develop annual forecasts and budgets for the branch, aligned with corporate objectives.
- Monitor and manage revenue, gross profit, and margin targets; implement corrective actions as required.
- Oversee branch financial performance including cost management, expense control, and reporting.
- Ensure operational efficiency across scheduling, installation, and service delivery.

Service & Installation Oversight
- Ensure all installations and service work are delivered on time, on budget, and to company quality standards.
- Monitor field operations for efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Administration & Reporting
- Oversee branch administrative functions including office management, payroll, and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver branch performance reports to the General Manager.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and financial controls.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of progressive management experience, ideally within construction, building products, or service-based industries.
- Proven track record of sales management and business development.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational metrics.
- Knowledge of overhead door, gate, or related building products industry considered an asset.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team.
- Business Acumen: Strong grasp of financial drivers, sales processes, and operational efficiency.
- Customer Focus: Dedicated to building lasting customer relationships and ensuring service excellence.
- Communication: Clear and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem Solving: Skilled at analyzing issues, making decisions, and implementing practical solutions.

Pay: $95,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
