Restaurant General Manager

The GM is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the restaurant and will develop and maintain a safe, welcoming and professional environment for staff, guests, and vendors. **Organization Description**

The Matty’s Patty’s (“MP”) concept manifested from a memorable trip to Oahu, Hawaii where Matty Matheson and RVCA founder Pat Tenore launched the MP’s apparel line serving burgers to local youth at a skate park. Matty wanted to do something new and unique and he had the burger recipe to do it. This idea of “showing love” to the community and the desire to constantly recreate this led to a series of successful international burger pop ups. MP’s is proud to be Matty’s first restaurant in his hometown of Toronto.

**Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following)**

**Staff Recruitment, Management & Training**
- Responsible for staff hiring, training, development and succession planning
- Liaise with Head Chef to ensure employee contracts are prepared, delivered and returned on time
- Set individualized objectives for staff and conduct regular performance reviews
- Responsible for creating, communicating and confirming bi-weekly staff schedules for all salaried and hourly employees and for finding replacements for staff/shifts as needed
- Oversee the implementation of training programs related to human resources, quality control, food and merchandise offerings
- Monitor and review employee hours, including punctuality (clocking in and out hours), breaks, time off and vacations
- Ensure all staff uphold and adhere to uniform policies
- Track and refresh staff cultural and sensitivity training

**Budget, Payroll & Store Profitability**
- Aid in the monthly profit and loss analysis
- Work with Head Chef to ensure accuracy of the payroll
- Manage the balancing and closing duties at the end of each day

**Customer Service & Social Media Relations**
- Establish a customer-focused culture, ensuring staff are friendly, professional, welcoming and helpful to provide a high standard of service
- Make Head Chef and Director of Operations aware of any customer complaints to do with food or beverage
- Ensure that all customer queries and complaints are dealt with professionally, promptly and adhere to internal protocols and guidelines
