**Overview**:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the accounting and operations teams. This role is critical to ensuring financial integrity and supporting business decisions with up-to-date reporting.
**What you’ll do**:
- Record and categorize all financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payments)
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and accounts regularly
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
- Generate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and year-end)
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records for audits or tax preparation
- Work closely with external accountants or tax advisors
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
**What we’re looking for**:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in the retail, apparel, or e-commerce industry is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management, and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify)
- Knowledge of Canadian/US tax and payroll systems (if applicable)
**PLEASE NOTE: Must be willing to work onsite in Oakville**
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Oakville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
