**Job Details**: Part-Time **Posting Status**: Open to all current Town of Oakville employees and external applicants **Closing Date**: Applications for this position must be received at oakville.ca by no later than 11:59 PM on**May 4, 2025.** **This opportunity is designated as a Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations position and will run from May 20. 2025 to August 31, 2025.** **General Responsibilities**: Assist in the planning for and delivery of creative theme-oriented, heritage-based hands-on Museum Summer Camp programs; Provide direct care, safety, and supervision of children, to ensure the well-being and the enjoyment of all participants; Lead before and after camp activities; Maintain a safe and clean environment for camp participants; Day to day co-ordination of camp activities, including preparation, set-up, and clean - up of daily activities. Adhere to Department prescribed policies and procedures Support and promote the HIGH FIVE "Principles of Healthy Child Development" (PHCD). **Qualifications**: Enrolled in a post-secondary program in History, Museum Studies, Education and/or Early Childhood education or a related discipline Experience supervising groups of children in a camp and/or educational setting; Ability to work both independently and to be pro-active in a team environment; Responsible, hard-working, enthusiastic and dynamic; Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; Strong organizational, planning and leadership skills; Experience and knowledge of recreation, education, arts and/or crafts would be an asset; Current first aid certification and CPR C and AED is required; Previous leadership experience would be beneficial; HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) Certification is a requirement Produce a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check including vulnerable sector screening, dated within 30 days of hire. All applicants must provide confirmation of full-time student status in current academic year and/or acceptance into full-time studies the following September. **In order to be eligible for this position, applicants must also meet Young Canada Works funding eligibility**: Must be between 16 and 30 years of age Have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year Are Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Act (foreign students are not eligible) Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations Willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment Not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW **DATED**: February 26, 2025 **We thank all applicants and advise that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
