As a fully accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association (OCA), we adhere to the highest standards of safety, supervision, and quality programming. Appleby College offers the following Camp Programs: Early Discovery Camp, Arts & Media Camp, Sports & Adventure Camp, and Science & Success Camp. Under the supervision of the Head Instructor, the Volunteer Instructor will provide assistance within a specific program area. The Volunteer Instructor will participate as part of a team offering support and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all campers.
**Specific Accountabilities**:
- Work closely with the Head Instructor, providing support within assigned area
- Work co-operatively and participates in all activities of the camp program
- Observe, promote all rules and regulations established for the program, including Appleby’s Mutual Respect policy
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Appropriate behavior at all times
- Team oriented, motivational and creative
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Good communication skills
- Strong ability to work well with others and follow direction
- Standard First Aid and CPR - C
**Workplace Requirements**:
- As a condition of employment, a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening is required for those over 18 yrs. of age and/or declaration for minors if under 18 yrs.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR - C (certified on, or after Sept. 2022) is required

- Experience (if any) with Appleby College Camps in previous years
- Indicate the age group of youth that you would prefer to work
- Indicate your area of interest (specific sports, specific arts, etc.)
