- Competitive salary with comprehensive benefits package
- Markham, ON
A stable company with a long track record of success. A meaningful, long-term career with a company that has a strong, supportive management team and great work culture. A cutting edge, fast-moving role with challenging and rewarding work.
That’s the opportunity we’re offering - will you reach out and take it?
Our client is now looking for a highly motivated, hardworking **QA Manager** who is interested in working for a family-owned business with great advancement opportunities. We are seeking team-focused, innovative, and detail-oriented individuals who are looking for new learning experiences, and a desire to contribute to our clients’ success.
**Quality Assurance Manager**
The QA Manager will be working with our QA Consultant and Quality Inspectors to ensure all requirements are understood and fill parts that are acceptable based on the customer’s quality requirements. You will ensure key technical information is relayed to suppliers and documentation is complete and accurate for each customer order. You will inspect machine parts and will know how they are created and what equipment is required. Essentially, you will be involved from quoting right through to delivery.
The QA Manager is someone who has a strong investigative personality, and is analytical, with great attention to detail. You love to see an operation running smoothly and know not just how to problem solve, but how to foresee future problems and prevent them from occurring. Your excellent technical ability is complemented by your common sense and good judgment, allowing you to make solid decisions that help the company achieve its goals.
**Practically speaking you will**:
- Manage the QA department and QA Inspectors.
- Tailor inspection plans according to customer’s drawings and designs.
- Complete hands-on testing, paperwork, and overview to submit to customers.
- Ensure the inspectors are using the customer approved plans to inspect parts and pass them.
- Ensure equipment is up to date and calibrated correctly for annual audits.
- Communicate with suppliers and clients directly on a daily basis.
- Assist in developing item master descriptions for new products in the ERP system that reference applicable technical documents and revision levels when required.
- Evaluate the capabilities of new vendors by one or more methods including a vendor evaluation document questionnaire, a facility audit and a first article inspection.
- Assist in reviewing and approving all purchase orders for special products (non-nuclear and non-aerospace) made to technical documents in order to ensure that the item master descriptions are correct and reference all applicable documents and correct revision levels.
- Develop procurement specifications when they are required to define technical requirements.
- Generate Inspection & Test inspections for fasteners & engineered industrial products.
- Conduct visual & dimensional inspections of fasteners & engineered industrial products.
Additionally, you’re a good fit for this role if you are:
- **Independent** - you don’t need or want someone looking over your shoulder. You’re always results-oriented and keep tabs on different projects with ease.
- **Leader** - you communicate openly and effectively across teams. You treat everyone with respect because you’re invested in maintaining strong work relationships.
- **Organized **- you are able to plan, prioritize, organize, and monitor activities and projects.
**The Details**:
This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 PM, out of our Markham office. Our client offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, a comprehensive benefits plan, bonus, and vacation.
**What You’ll Bring**
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands on experience working with machines (inspecting machine parts and understanding what equipment is required).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings & specifications.
- A good knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practice, and familiarity with use of inspection and test equipment.
- Proven ability to use computer software including Word and Excel as a minimum, and database management systems.
- Root cause analysis experience and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience in either the aerospace, nuclear, or fastener industry (asset).
**How To Apply**
At Ian Martin/Raise, we connect people with meaningful work. We work with people like you for similar technical roles. If you apply, be sure to create a profile with us. That way, great technical jobs will come to you before they even get to the job boards.
