Quality Assurance Specialist

The position of Quality Assurance Specialist reports directly to the Head of Quality, and is a key member of our broader Quality Assurance team. The primary focus of this role is on the audit-related elements of the Quality Assurance function, while also supporting our business development team on new projects/products. This role will also support the rest of the Quality Assurance with aspects of the overarching Quality program (GMP, sanitation, etc.)
- **The role**:_
- Owns third party audits (BRC, Organic, GFCO, Kosher, etc.), customer and internal audit
- Maintains all certifications, including BRC, Vegan, Kosher, Non-GMO, Organic, Gluten-Free (GFCO).
- Collaborates with the Plant Operations and Product Development Teams on new product launches to ensure new products meet specifications
- Maintains a library of finished product specifications, SOPs, SSOPs, QA forms etc.
- Support GMP, HACCP & BRC Quality Systems, consistent with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliance
- Support Recall/Mock Recall, Traceability, FIFO, Continuous Improvement, Sanitation, Pest Control, Food Security, etc. programs
- Supports, motivates QA personnel, and prepares recommendations for team development
- Maintains Supplier Program and approval of new and existing suppliers
- Special projects and other tasks as requested
- **You offer**:_
- University Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field
- 3-5 years of food related Quality Assurance experience
- Solid knowledge of BRC standards and certification process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated high level of initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects
- Supporter of “Do Things Right the First Time” principle
- Excellent time management skills
- Disciplined, motivated and accountable
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Access software to produce effective reports, documents, spreadsheets

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
