The Student Affairs portfolio includes: Office of the Registrar and Enrolment Management; Wellness, Recreation and Athletics; Campus Engagement; and Student Development and Success. **_*This position is eligible for a Remote Work Arrangement*_** **The salary range for this position is**: - **Recruitment range: $69,052- $76,129** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement. - **Performance range: starting salary to max of $89,791** is available through annual performance increases. - Job Summary The Specialist, Curriculum and Calendar oversees the development and maintenance of training materials and provides support and training to end-users of the curriculum management software. Together with the Coordinator and the Assistant, Curriculum and Calendar, the Specialist ensures curriculum proposals comply with university policies, reviews submissions for accuracy, and provides feedback to academic units. The Specialist is responsible for editorial updates to the university calendar as well as the publication of three undergraduate and three graduate Senate-approved academic calendars each year. Additionally, the Specialist oversees the provisioning of access to the curriculum management software and the maintenance of course and curriculum information in the student information system. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of curriculum and calendar processes and supporting faculty and staff across the university. The Curriculum and Calendar team works primarily remotely but is required to attend on-campus meetings as needed. - Job Requirements Knowledge, skills, and abilities include: - Experience with database software management, content management systems, and/or publication software - Knowledge of HTML, website management, and online collaboration tools such as SharePoint/Connect - Knowledge of post-secondary organization and structure, academic regulations and processes as well as familiarity with programs and degree structures offered at the university - Proficient in the use and functionality of Kuali Curriculum Management or equivalent software - Knowledge of the Banner Student Information System and degree audit or similar Student Information System - Exceptional attention to detail, time management and planning skills as well as the ability to adjust to rapidly-changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment - A strong technical background with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software, resolve problems, and troubleshoot technical issues - Ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and service provision and make recommendations - Demonstrated analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes to an audience with limited knowledge of curriculum process and varying aptitude for technologies that support the process - Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with members of the university community and the ability to work with staff and faculty with different abilities, experience and understanding with the curriculum process - Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. **Territory Acknowledgement**: We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory the university stands, and the Lək̓ʷəŋən and WSÁNEĆ Peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. **What UVic Offers**: To learn more click here
