The Northern Alberta YMCA is looking for a proven leader to fill the Aquatics and ASP Supervisor position. **Position Res**
**ponsibilities**
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, supervise and manage all staff and volunteers.
- Ensures aquatics standards are consistently met.
- Ongoing evaluation of Continuous Swim Program ensuring members can access lessons and children are progressing. Continuous improvement plan is in place to ensure continuous swimming lessons are of highest quality.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Ensures aquatics facility and programs are safe by conducting audits, reviewing checklists and equipment, performing health &safety checks. Daily walk arounds are being completed and action is taken to correct unsafe or high-risk areas.
- Ongoing evaluation of aquatic supervision and lifeguarding ensuring YMCA scanning, guarding and patrol standards are consistently met and immediately address deficiencies.
- Knows, Reviews and implements all Lifesaving Society Policies and Procedures and agreements in conjunction with Aquatics Specialty Programs.
- Keeps association informed of Aquatics Specialty Programs (ASP), YMCA Swim Club, Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC)policies, procedures, course availability and events.
- Mentors and evaluates ASP instructors to ensure program quality.
- Adapts ASP programming to ensure longevity, implements new programming to benefit the association staff, volunteers, members and the public.
- Supports the department, branch and association in implementing and achieving goals.

**You’ll**
**Need for This Job**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership capacity in an Aquatics environment
- University degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or related experience an asset.
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Lifesaving National Lifeguard (NL), Must hold one of YMCA Swim Instructor (YSI), Water Safety Instructor (WSI), OR Swim Instructor -Lifesaving (SI).
- Leadership Certification in Aquatic Supervisor Training (AST), National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI),FirstAid Instructor (FAI), Lifesaving Trainer (T) or National Trainer (NT)is an asset.
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
